Our school on Dutch National Television

The NOS Jeugdjournaal, the Netherlands' most-watched children's news programme, came to our school to film a feature on heritage language schools.

Their cameras followed one of our regular lessons, and our students got the chance to share what learning Greek means to them growing up in the Netherlands. What came through on screen was exactly what we see every day: engaged kids, dedicated teachers, and a real love for the language.

The piece clearly hit home. The Jeugdjournaal even posed a question to its young viewers: "Which language would you like to learn?"

Proof that stories like ours resonate far beyond our own community.

For us, this is about more than a few minutes on television. It's recognition of what this community does, week in, week out: keeping a language and a culture alive, thousands of miles from where it all began.
